33"X42"X39, Mixed Media: Throw-away materials such as old jackets, a sleeping bag, backpack straps, suit case wheels and handles are the main components in this sculpture. Other materials include epoxy, spray paint, and acrylic paint. The materiality of the work eludes to ideas of movement, travel and functionality.
Silver Chair , 2010
62"X43"X54", Mixed Media: Psychological travel and scapeism are the main inputs of the chair series. The silver chair is an interactive system that invites the viewer to sit. The participant activates the sculpture by rocking back and forth while getting a massage and listening to white noise from an earphone component. The materials used in this work are: modified plastic chair, old jacket with a hoodie, boom box, massage control, extension cord, wood, glue, synthetic yarn, spray paint, acrylic paint, and wire.
Black Pod , 2009
24"X27"X37", Mixed Media: Camara lenses, cardboard, wood, expandable foam, flat acrylic paint, an old winter jacket, computer components, plastic tubing, and aluminum are the material used in the construction for this pod. This pod is an invented, ambiguous system that has the possibilities of being both approachable and threatening at the same time.
