About us
Slag Gallery was established in 2008 in New York, while RX Gallery was founded in 2002 in Paris. In 2021, the two galleries joined forces, becoming SLAG&RX in New York and RX&SLAG in Paris. This new entity creates a dynamic partnership in which the mutualization of both galleries' expertise in the French and American art scenes contributes to revealing a vibrant young artistic movement while also enhancing the representation of historical transatlantic artists.
SLAG&RX, which originated as Slag Gallery, is now located in the heart of Chelsea. Since its inception, Slag has prioritized supporting its artists at every stage of their careers. Through the publication of catalogs, participation in art fairs, and exchange programs with various art organizations, SLAG&RX elevates both emerging and established artists, aiding in their professional development. Furthermore, the gallery proposes and develops outdoor projects in collaboration with both public and private entities. Notably, the gallery has been involved in significant institutional collaborations, such as those for the France-Korea Year, working with the Musée Guimet, the Musée d'Art Moderne in Saint-Etienne, the Musée Cernuschi, the Château de Chambord, and the Domaine de Chaumont, as well as a tribute to Hermann Nitsch in France in collaboration with the Musée de L’Orangerie (2023-24).
Since its founding, the artists represented by SLAG&RX have participated in numerous biennials and internationally renowned museum exhibitions, continuing to showcase their work in prestigious institutions and art events worldwide. The gallery also actively participates in acclaimed art fairs, including Paris Photo, Art Paris, Art Brussels, the Armory Show, and FAB Paris, for which it is a member of the selection committee. SLAG&RX is dedicated to nurturing its artists, promoting sustainable career advancements.
With a global outlook and a commitment to growth, SLAG&RX strengthens its presence through its partnership with RX Paris. This collaboration transforms the Chelsea establishment into a global entity. The two galleries share visions and artists across borders, exchanging unique perspectives. This partnership not only brings fresh ideas to SLAG&RX but also expands the promotional platform available for the artists represented by both galleries.
