Paige Twyman is a visual artist based in Los Angeles California who received her BFA in painting from Maryland Institute College of Art in 2020. Her paintings investigate the historical frameworks of landscape painting and the various degrees of separation between nature and contemporary culture. Her approach to color is influenced by the bright, arid environment of the American west that at times exceeds the threshold of normal expectations and reveals the destructive potential of the California dream, a mythos that thrives on resilience in the face of perpetual erasure. She has exhibited in shows at the Human Resources Gallery Los Angeles (HRLA), Angels Gate Cultural Center in San Pedro, California, and has recently completed a residency at the Burren College of Art in Ballyvaughan, Ireland.
