Statement

My desire is to create an aesthetic sculptural balance that has been informed by manufacturing of the industrial age and/or technology of our digital time. Through repetitive forms, computer precision, and gestural mark making, my goal is to create a dialogue that focuses on our sensibilities towards advancements in how we make objects. I am interested in our response to this evolution of making, from technology in design, and our value in an artisan’s craftsmanship. My work is exploring these avenues to better understand what is being gained or lost during this digital reformation that is changing how we interact physically and emotionally with sculptural objects.
